New San Roque Civic Centre in Torrevieja: a new meeting point for the neighbourhood

The new San Roque Civic Centre in Torrevieja is set to become a new meeting point for local residents. The aim is to provide the neighbourhood with its own space where people can meet, attend courses, organise activities, exercise or simply spend time together, without having to travel into the city centre.

What exactly will it be used for?

  • A meeting point for the neighbourhood: A comfortable place where residents can meet, organise local events and where community associations can hold their activities.

  • Workshops and activities: The centre will include spaces for courses, talks, exhibitions and different activities designed for children, young people and older residents.

  • Sport and outdoor activities: There will also be rooms for exercise, together with outdoor areas and green spaces where residents can walk and enjoy the outdoors.

The most important details of the project

  • How much will it cost? The investment will be more than €1.5 million, with 60% of the funding coming from European Union funds.

  • What will the building be like? It will have approximately 700 square metres, distributed over two floors, with a modern, accessible and energy-efficient design. The building will be located on a plot of approximately 1,900 square metres.

  • When will it be ready? The technical project is currently being prepared, a process expected to take around four and a half months. Once this administrative stage is completed, a construction company will be selected to carry out the works.
